Keindahan Pulau Flores, Indonesia (20 gambar)

Melihat pada gambar pertama sememangnya hati sudah terpaut dengan Flores yang terletak di Indonesia. Flores dikatakan merupakan sebuah pulau yang mempunyai pelbagai hal kepercayaan mistik, budaya yang yang unik serta asal usul penduduk kepulauan itu sendiri. Tanah kepulauan itu juga dipercayai mengalami peningkatan tanah setiap tahun. Mungkin kesan dari gerakan plat-plat bumi yang sememangnya Indonesia berada di dalam Lingkaran Api Pasifik. Pegangan agama yang utama di sini ialah Kristian Katolik dan juga kepercayaan Pagan.


Pulau yang mempunyai kepanjangan 350 kilometer dan 40 kilometer lebar ini sememangnya amat menarik untuk dilawati. Saya pernah mengeluarkan entry pasal aktiviti menangkap ikan paus tahunan di sini. Ok! klik pda tajuk post dan melihat semua gambar Pulau Flores ini!

• One of the highlights in Ende is the multihued Kelimutu Lakes. Two of the adjacent lakes display turquoise water during this season, as the other one is dark brown.

• The crescent of white sandy beach in the island of Rutong in Riung, Ngada is nearly untouched. The tranquility is a remedy for the soul.

• The gleaming water is extraordinarily refreshing for swimming or snorkeling. Parasols were built although very few people know the island even exists. Rutong Island is only 30 minutes from the harbor of Riung.

• Fisherman boats are available for rent at the nearby harbor for island hopping. One of the boats insisted to float closer to the fruit bat island. The island is accessible only at noon during the high tide

• The stilted house of Bajo people in Riung has satellite antenna for television. The only power source in the whole village is a generator that starts at 6 pm for the following 12 hours. 

• Market in Bajawa, filled with smiling people everywhere, is one of the cleanest markets in the eastern part of Indonesia. Jackfruit is one of the local produce sold to make tasty homemade soup

• When other villages start to adopt the convenience of televisions and automobile, Belaraghi Village in Ngada maintains its own world of traditional lifestyle. They came out to see a group of visitors and started to play a welcome dance.

• Plain rice, cooked meat, vegetables, side dish including the chili paste, were offered to symbolize friendliness and prosperity. The overjoyed visitors almost did not expect such hospitality. Belaraghi was one of their best moments in Flores.

• Ruteng is the regional capital of Manggarai. Its weather is far much cooler than the eastern part of the island. A well maintained grand chapel stands so beautifully in the downtown of Ruteng.

• When the world is so much fascinated with baffling crop circles, the people in Cancar Village, Ruteng has adopted a tradition of land division called Lingko, spearheaded by a Tu’a Teno, the chief of village. The translation of such tradition and belief of one God, called Mori Kraeng, is seen in this spider-web rice field. A Mangka or an effigy of Mori Kraeng  is actually placed in the center of the circle.

• Two warrior Caci dancers shared the same sentiment toward the sacred game. Although the hit might injure one of them, the friendship would be unharmed. When the blood spills, all are happy as it indicates a glimpse of a successful harvest in the following season.

• The other highlight of Flores is the untouched islands that offer tranquility as this. The corals are fantastic, where living school of fish and colorful creatures make it a safe home.

• Liang Bua is a cave where Homo floresiensis were found. Their peculiar size to the land is a call for attention to the world of scientific research, a bridge to discover the past for clues of the future.

• In Lamalera, a village in Lembata, east of Flores, people still hunt to support their lives. These traditional villagers are dubbed as one of the exceptional whale hunting tribes.

• The meat of the captured whale is cut in pieces and dried. These are their commodities for barter in the local market. The villagers from the mountain would exchange a piece of whale meat with ten chunks of fresh cassavas.
